'I say these words...'

Yay! So I colored my sketch of Scorchfur when his name was announced for new NightClan deputy.
I was really proud of this!! And then I scanned it and it killed the color. I tried to fix it by modifying the shadows and highlights a bit. It made it better. But I wish you could see the real copy.

"Before this ceremony officially begins I have another to bring about, the choosing of NightClan's next deputy." he sighed out a slow breath and glanced at the sky. "I say these words before the spirit of Wolfstar that he will hear and appove my choice," he paused then looked back to the crowd. "Scorchfur will be the next NightClan deputy." he blinked and looked across the clearing into the tom's face.
Scorchfur blinked his deep red amber eyes in bewildered surprised. He blinked and looked up at Stonestar with his mouth slightly open, gaping. "Scorchfur?" he murmured quietly to himself, like had hadn't heard right. He staggered to his paws and looked around at the warriors around him before he glanced up at his new leader, his legs felt weak, like jello. "I." He started. "What an honor, Stonestar." He started flicking his ears he shuffled his paws, trying to stand slightly taller. "I- Thank you Stonestar. I'll do my best." He vowed. Deputy? A heavy rock formed in the pit of his stomach, he was the deputy of NightClan now? He had to imagine that Stonestar's feelings were more uncertain than his own. He had just been made the leader. Even though Stonestar had been deputy for a long time, nothing could prepare a cat for that.
"I know you will." Stonestar murmured. "That's why I chose you." he turned and looked over the rest of the warriors and glanced down to make sure all the would-be apprentices were there and accounted for.
Scorchfur nodded and sat back down, glad to sit so that no cat might notice his legs shaking slightly. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, calming his nerves. What if he failed his clanmates like he once failed his mother? What if he was the wrong choice?
He buried his own uncertainty and replaced it with positivity. He could do this, he was Stonestar's choice, which meant he had confidence in him. He tried to pay attention the ceremonies.
